Did you know that between 1-2% of Canadians have autism? That translates to as many as 7,000 people right here in Kawartha Lakes and the surrounding area.
That’s 7,000 neurodiverse people whose parents, caregivers and loved ones are doing their best to provide the support they need to thrive in a world built for neurotypical minds.
If you don’t have a child or loved one with autism, you know someone who does — and they need helpful relatable content and resources that validate their experiences and help them create a safe, accessible and inclusive community for the autistic children or people they love.
Autism Resources Kawartha (ARK) is a local autism advocacy and awareness group committed to filling that need.
